President’s Message - February 2024

Quite often I think about what an amazing community the CSI Houston Chapter has built. People of all ages and walks of life throughout the design and construction industry come together to collaborate, support and exchange knowledge amongst one another. This was extremely evident at the January chapter meeting as I floated around the room, I observed long standing members, new members, nonmembers, those local to Houston and those who traveled in, all warmly greeting and interacting with each other. Embracing each other and saying things like “I’m so happy you’re here”, “It’s been so long”, “I’ve known this person for years” and “I can’t wait to work with you”. It really speaks to the relationships that this organization fosters and shows how even though we may work in different roles and different places, we’re all very much connected. This is a truly beautiful space we have created within CSI. It is all about providing a sense of belonging within our industry for everyone, and I’m so honored to be a part of this organization and to share in it with you all. Community is significant to our overall wellbeing, so this month I challenge you to express gratitude to those within your personal communities, and to continue to show up for one another.
For this month’s chapter meeting, we are excited to be hosted by Bryne Metals Corporation as we will tour their facilities, learn about their history, and get a firsthand look into their fabrication processes. We can’t wait to see you all there and as always, remember to smile often, share wisdom and spec right!
