President’s Message – October 2018

CSI Houston Chapter September 2018 President’s Message

As I am writing this I can sense a bit of fall in the air. Hopefully, the weather will be great for the upcoming Brian T. Harrington Golf Classic, CSI Houston Chapter’s annual golf tournament, which will be held on Friday, October 12 at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch. The shotgun start begins at 8:00 am. It is not too late to register. Please go to the chapter web page www.csihouston.org to register. If you have questions or would like to be a sponsor, contact Caroline Koop at carolinek@nationalgypsum.com .

The September chapter meeting was an engaging event with over forty in attendance. I would like to thank Chief Alan Bragg, former police chief of the Cypress-Fairbanks School District and current Director of School Safety and Security at PBK Architects for a compelling presentation.

The October meeting is set for the 22nd of the month and will be held at the Boral/Western Brick showroom located at 7620 Washington Avenue. Ken Black is lining up a presentation of ballistic and windstorm resistant glazing that will be an excellent follow-on to Chief Bragg’s presentation. Look for more details on the website soon.

Construct 2018 will be held in Long Beach, California October 3-5. I plan to be there. Look for me if you are there also. Remember too, the window for CSI certification exams begins on September 25th and runs through December 10th. If you have registered for the CDT, CCPR, CCS, or CCCA exams you should have, or will be getting, an authorization to test from CSI so that you can schedule an exam day and time with Prometric.

Once again, my thanks to our sponsors for their support and the hard work of all the chapter members who make our activities and objectives possible.
