President’s Message – July

CSI Houston Chapter July 2018 President’s Message

My first act as chapter president is one of contrition. Please accept my sincere apology for not being present at the June awards banquet. Other obligations required my presence out of state.

I do thank everyone who did attend and hope you enjoyed the evening. I offer special thanks to all who worked to make the awards banquet a success and congratulations to our new board members. I also want to thank our out-going president, Bill Fairbanks, for his diligent work this past year. Thanks also to Ken Black and Jeff Holstien for serving as board directors for the past three years.

I am enthusiastic about the chapter’s prospects for the coming year. We have a great team of officers and board members who have already shown outstanding capability and dedication to our objectives and goals.

I hope to continue chapter leadership’s efforts to strengthen our committees.  At this time some committees consist of only one person. With today’s technology committee meetings seldom require members to be together at the same place. Conference calls with agendas presented ahead of time can be very effective. Additionally, participating in committee work is a great way to develop contacts in the industry and expand your network. If you would like to serve on a committee let any board member know that you are ready to get involved.

With your help and thoughtful input, I look forward to a successful year filled with great accomplishments and good times.
