President’s Message – August 2018

CSI Houston Chapter August 2018 President’s Message

There is much happening with the chapter in the next few months and I hope many members are able to take advantage of the upcoming opportunities.

Fore-most (pardon the pun) among the activities is the Brian T. Herrington Golf Classic which will be held at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch on October 12th with an 8:00 am shotgun start. Please see the home page for registration information.

There will be an August meeting tentatively scheduled for Tuesday the 28th at 5:30 pm. The venue and program are yet to be confirmed but be certain the evening will be a pleasant one with the usual CSI Houston camaraderie. Since the board decided to explore new venues that are more in keeping with the chapter’s budget and the convenience of the members we are occasionally scrambling to make arrangements for our monthly meetings. Be assured however that those responsible are a hardworking, diligent group and that we will keep the web site updated so “stay tuned”.

There are two events for which firm dates are set. First, Construct 2018 will be held in Long Beach, California October 3-5. Registration information is on the home page. Also, the window for certification exams begins on September 25th and runs through December 10th. It is not too late to obtain study materials and begin preparation for the CDT, CCPR, CCS, or CCCA exams but time is running out.

We are working on a tour for late October and hope to be able to share that information sometime in early September. If arrangements can be made as desired expect a wonderful experience

I would like to thank all our sponsors for their generous support. Without that we would not be able to carry out our mission of building knowledge and improving project delivery.
