President’s Message – April 2019

CSI Houston Chapter January 2019 President’s Message

The chapter’s tour of the Houston Independent School District’s Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) was a truly outstanding event. Our tour guide was Mr. Jonathan Klein who is the Magnate Coordinator for the school. I want to thank the chapter’s immediate past president, Bill Fairbanks, for arranging the tour through our gracious colleague Dan Bankhead, AIA, who is the General Manager of Facilities Design for the Construction Services Department for the district.

At the April 23rd meeting Chuck Gremillion, Executive Director of the Construction Career Collaborative, will discuss the role that organization plays in our industry. The Construction Career Collaborative (C3) is an alliance of responsible owners, contractors, and specialty contractors, who seek to positively affect the issues facing the commercial construction industry in the Greater Houston region to create a safe, skilled and sustainable craft workforce. Please plan to join us for this compelling presentation. The meeting will be held at the United Way Houston, 50 Waugh Drive.

If you have not already received your ballot via e-mail for the 2019-2020 election of chapter officers you should be getting it soon. Keep an eye out for it and don’t forget to check the junk or spam folder just in case. Please return those to Rhonda Bowles (rhondakbowles@gmail.com) by April 19th. Note there is a ‘k’ between ‘rhonda’ and ‘bowles’ in the e-mail address else your ballot will go to a nice lady in Rhode Island. 😊

Thanks again to everyone whose efforts make the most of our CSI experience.
