March President’s Message

President, CSI Houston Chapter

Dear fellow CSI Houston Chapter Members,

Spring is around the corner and so is the South Central Region 2017 Spring Conference & Trade Show which is being held from April 20 – 22 in Amarillo, Texas. The Amarillo Chapter is known to host a great event. Along with a great education program and trade show the local attractions such as the Cadillac Ranch, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Sterling Kinney house and the natural wonder of the Palo Duro Canyon will not disappoint.

With spring time also comes the spring testing window for the CSI certifications which is from March 27 through June 2. Specifically for the Construction Documents Technology program the CSI Houston Chapter is proud to host another all-day CDT Exam Cram on March 25 to help those prepare for the CDT exam.

I am also excited to announce the first factory tour of the year which will be held on April 5 at the newly constructed, 4 million-square-foot campus for Goodman Manufacturing, one of the largest and most technologically advanced HVAC manufacturing facilities in the country.

I would also like to take the opportunity to make a call for support of our affiliate Prairie View A&M Student Chapter as they seek to raise funds for their spring service learning project which includes a trip to Dubai where they will learn about local architecture and culture and engage in social projects. I believe that these are important learning experiences that help broaden their social and academic horizons and any contribution no matter how large or small would be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, please join us at our March 27 Chapter meeting where Darrel Stanley with Steelcase will discuss 21st century learning environments.
